R Kelly is back

För ungefär 8 år sedan hade jag och DN-skribenten Mattias Dahlström en debattföljetong via mail angående en artikel han skrivit gällande svensk hiphop. På den tiden var glappet mellan journalisterna och den nya svenska hiphopvågen ganska stort och själv var jag ung, oförstörd och tämligen upprörd över recensenternas orättvisor. Det blev ganska lustigt när jag några år senare sedan upptäckte att Mattias var bästa vän med min barndomskompis blivande man (på lördag!!!!). Hur som helst har Mattias skrivit en jevla skön R-Kelly recension på DNs första sida idag, läs den här

Nike + Sports Kit motivates

Time for the dancer Decida to do some blogging. After a sunny Sunday at Hornstulls "Återvinningsfest" - flea market (everyone and their cousin where out on the streets sellin old vintage things, it felt like LDN!)I fought my hangover (check pics from Ison & Filles release on the Kingsize site)

and went out for a run....

Thank's to Nikes new invention "Nike +" I did good!!! I've been really hyped up about this, Nike + is a concept including running shoes fitting a small sensor connected to a reciver that'll be plugged in to a Ipod Nano. Then you can get all the info through your headphones(speed, distance, calories and time)during the run. Afterwards analyze all data when connecting the Ipod to your computer through an account at www.nikeplus.com, you'll get a survey of your run history and how you are doing.

For all my competetetiv heads; It's possible to challenge friends (other users) on the site, i e set at special challenge on a certain distance during a month/week.

Nike has also done musicmixes (there is also mixes with coaching)for running togheter with various artists and you can also create your own and download other users, I found an Aesop Rock mix (his wifey is apperently an avid runner)!
Im going to put one up there soon!!!

The Nike + kit tries to help us with the hardest thing in all physical activity: motivation. And it does indeed help.

Nu finns båda dessa märken inne på Weekday Götgatan 21 och Vibskov på Urban Outfitters Bibloteksgatan 5. Såg Wood Wood camo-långskjortorna, i övrigt hade man styrt upp en liten Ny Rejv hörna och addat på lite billiga prylar i det egna märket, snygga rymd-tees bla (som skulle passat så utmärkt på MC Rodan Kairos, fan jag borde köpa loss en till dig!!!) UO hade klänningarna med det blå afrikanska tyget (som skjortan på bilden) och en hel del andra sköna prylar.

Some about Eve

Nowadays it's really few female rappers out there in the mainstream spotlight, but now EVE is back. As a rapper she's maybe not appeal directly to me but her position as one of the few female rappers difference her from other female stars in the black popular music scene today. And she is kind of foxy in a way so I was curious about her new video and how much her entourage did spend on it...



I don't have nothing better to do right now:

+ great make up (especially the yellow and pink one)
+ Metallic tights and bath suits 80 ies style looks ok, even if it’s nothing new over here
+ Eves hair cuts
+ MAC is obviously the main sponsor of the video and nobody tries to shuffle that away…
+ the lightning on the fond wall behind Swiss and Eve in long hair is nice
+ Great shades (and cat suit is ajjt)

- Boring lightning and scenography, especially the first part of the video makes me think of David LaChapelle and Lil Kim for like 8 years ago… They wanna do the late 80 ies thing in the clothes(Kesh of Coconut Twins etc but become more of Lil Kim late 90 ies etc)but is afraid of doing it for real.
- who’s fetish satisfies the dancermaids in black latex?!
- Bad hair on dancers, braids on half the head 2007? Feodora hats ain't that fun either
- Why the hell are they wearing the thights OVER the bathing suits?

In Living Color - before the Chapelle Show

Homie D. Clown was one of the sketches in "In Living Color" - the American sketch comedy television series which ran on the FOX Network 1990-1994. Keenen Ivory Wayans, as Executive producer wrote and starred along with more members of the Wayans family (Damon, Marlon, Dwayne among others)and also nowaday-huge-stars like Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock and Jim Carrey. The no-holds barred satire was something new in american Tv-history and ILC became a sensation over a night. The show also featured rap acts as Flava Flav, Tupac and Queen Latifah. U got all Dave Chapelle s stuff? This paved his way, go get it at Amazon.co.uk

Coogie should've done some collabos themselves at this point...but I guess they live in a whole another world.

Baby Phat Fall 2007- most def not street fashion

Went through the Fall Collection of Baby Phat the other day despite my feelings against Kimora Lee… She’s in the same leauge as Tyra and in my world we only got two words for them, it’s two swedish ones: SANSLÖSA KVINNOR, its like senseless women in english but you have to hang out with my crew for a day or two the get the exact meaning.
In some way their lack of sense fascinates me, I mean how fun isn’t it that Tyra is trying to portrait herself like a young Oprah with her own ”Show”… Anyways running down Tyra or Kimora on this blog feels kind of predicteble and at the same time I went out on the net to check for the new collections eaven if I knew I probably not would be suprised. I went out there for some glamour and I got some:

I like that the team behind Baby Phat used a lot of short haired modells, the contrast between them and the clothes are perfect. My favourite set would be the black one on Omahyra, looking real 90'ies, like something Naomi could have been shooted in back then!


I can’t stop thinking about how the street smart hip hop chick (Not Kimora herself but the culture she used to represent) became the symbol of femininity no 1 in high stilettos...it’s like becoming the ultra-female was her deep inside wish if she only had the money?!

It's certainly not Baby Phat that takes it back to the streets, U already know that ...but If you want this style it's nice clothes. Period.

Duane Hanson

Yesterday I spend the whole day at Denmarks Museum of Modern Art "Arken", got the chance to experiance an incredible exhibition by the late photo realistic sculptor Duane Hanson (1925-1996, born by Swedish emmigrants in Minnesota) "Sculptures of the American Dream".

"Duane Hanson was especially fascinated by old people, big people and workmen; by wrinkles, furrows and scars who speak of the life that has been lived. He explored the stories written in the body.
With satire, humour and compassion Duane Hanson put a human face on the American stereotypes from the lower middleclass. The sculptures are weary, owerweight and dressed in tasteless outfits. The American dream seems to remain unfulfilled."

All of spring 2007 ARKEN presents 22 of Hanson’s lifelike sculptures and nine sculpture parts.

Decida i pølsebyen

Yeah Im in Copenhagen for a dance job, and eaven though I had to practise nearly the whole day I took some time off for a short visit to the Wood Wood (Krystalgade 4) and Henrik Vibskov (Krystalgade 6) stores.
At Wood Wood I found Jeremy Scott who's been a long time favourite in my house, they had the shades in gold and silver with the J S Signature on the arms (pic from Colette where U also can get em. Fredrik Skogkvists model got the polka striped ones further down)and also the bag and tee with the Jeremy Dollar on

And also, of course, a lot of great Bernhard Willhelm stuff (as usual) a lovley flower printed ryg sac for example. Won't forget to mention the Wood Wood camoflage overalls and shirts for the summer, you've seen them before and can do it again on the site. One of the girls in the store looked a little bit like she could have been a relative in her bright colored chinos...girl had style hehehe!

In the Vibskovs store I found a couple of items from Miss Carrie Mundanes Cassette Playa, crazy stuff you know. I wanna see this label on somebody as bright and bold as the clothes themselves...no pale skinny fashion nerds... No I should not say that- I would be happy to see any one in those wondurful clothes (check older topic Sonic The Muse).

Vibskov isn't to bad him self, saw the lovely cardigans and some other custard colored shorts and jackets, but I hadn't the time to stay there very long (and those huge lamps are crazy hot?!)

Those stores actually provide clothes that suits my style so I really REALLY had to convince myself to not exeed the budget for this month... instead I will return to Sweden with this...

It so fucking ugly I had to buy it. 16.80 DK at Sysrarna Greene. Galne Gunnar has to bite it.

Vi var ute i obyggden och plåtade till Kingsize Magazine i fredags, underbart väder och grym plåtning av alla inblandade!!!! Photos Zelam Fessahaye (Køpenhamn ær skyldig till konstiga æ:n och ø:n...jag ær i Danmark)


Det var som ett tecken vår fotograf heter EA och Lönngren i efternamn och han är född 2+5=7 och med nian efter=79. Det är sådant man kan roa sig med att tänka ut när man väntar långa stunder som modellen Jamel just fick göra

Plötsligt satt han bara där på en sten i skogen, klart vi tog med Manso i shootet

Nadia a k a Haidi and Anna doing their thing. Jag hade värsta planerna för Eimis hår men sen visade sig att det var alldeles för kort när vi tog ut henne cornrows. Så vi fick freestyla, och jag hade lovat Eimi att spara håret på hjässan så vi fick köra något som påminde om vad vi bla haft på Adiam förut men det var i allafall lite kortare. Men ohhhh jag har fetaste frippan i skallen som måste ut ut ut snart! Next level som Showbiz & A G!!!

Den økände Kingsize-Matte dök upp och tvingade oss att ta med hans lilla ögonsten Husla, Husla är en av de få hundar jag gillar faktiskt och han skötte sig utmärkt (Matte också)! Ostbågar är det man jobbar med för avanserad hunddressyr btw.

Vet inte vad EA försöker göra här, men Husla ær i alla fall galet ointresserad

Finally the new ones will arrive to Cali( will be in the store/site in beginning of next week), ppl have been talking about them moore than a year. Leroy Jenkins did the alloverprint hoodies in their own way before it became a conception and the fabrics in the jackets are as far as you can get from common jersey hoodies. The moore hardcore you look the better they will suit you...this one is for you Henry (post-scar Henry)haha!

Zelam is way to sweet and small for them...I leave it to you to imagine any male by choice.

Mama Clothes...

Mama had a great Mondrianesque shirt in their last collection, now they're releasing new tees and still sticks to the Latina theme. The one in the middle with gray lace could mos def be someting to use! U probably will find the new collection at Cali in a couple of weeks or order from the Mama site (36 USD)

Asics Gel Lyte III

Asics is a fresh alternative to all Nikes, Reeboks n Adidas when they now comes up with followers to the Patta Amsterdam sneakers (one of my absolut favvs 2007 check out the Timbuk/Kingsize no, see the photo of the store, typical netherlandish architecture with huge windows...så mysigt). The first of the three will be released today at David Zs, a limited edition of 252 pairs (90 usd)

Vinyl Killer

This is a vinyl player. You don’t belive me? I’ve seen it in action at Speak Easy Store (Artellerigatan 4, Sthlm) where U can get yours (899 SEK) if U need it as much as I do... The car has a needle under it and a small speaker inside, just let it drive around your wax and listen. And yea it’s a japanese thing.

Black Rain Bow opens in CITADIUM Paris

It’s located in the CITADIUM (50-56 Rue Caumartin) and will be an department store among other street oriented brands. This is a serious staking on street brands in a new environment, among others NIKE opened on half of the 3rd stage-an enormous shop and a ID laboratory. Then you have Avirex, Columbia, Drunknmunky, Etnies, Evisu, Fresh Jive, Lacoste, LRG, Paul Smith… yeah you get it!
The BKRW store is the cream of the crop and the interior is looking lovely and will be filled with all you can think of; Kilo Goods, New Balance, Nike, SSUR, Acapulco Gold, Leroy & Jenkins etc.
This will start a new chapter in the Parisian Street Fashion world!

Uniqlo fills the Gap?

Japanese Uniqlo (est. 1984) has been hyped for a while, especially since the flagshipstore did open in SOHO (546 Broadway, between Prince and Spring Streets) in November last year. Uniqlo describes them self with the keywords of ”Basics” and ”Quality”.

As my girl Asmeret puts it(check blush.se) ”the Japanese version of Gap”. No, clothes isn’t that amazing or special but the advertising and marketing is. Uniqlo keeps popping up in good contexts, being just as edgy they need to be, no more no less, to appeal to a big audience. A fresh looking Kelis in the Uniqlo adds definitely reminds me of when the Gap Individuals commercials started feature rap and r n b acts in the 90 ies.

Anyway, here is an example, once again, of how the Japanese borrows from American urban culture and make it their own, the street dance style Popping have been huge in Japan for years and isn’t it the perfect phenomena to use when Uniqlo in the same way sells back the product of what they once borrowed?

Japan has always revitalized the game, what would the street wear scene be without them...

Kokon To Zai

In the Kokon To Zai shop (57 greek street - London W1D 3DX)you'll find labels like Cassette Playa and Raf Simons along with thier own Dark Horse and KTZ. Weekday at Götgatan here in Stockholm have had KTZ and Dark Horse this spring, I completely fell in love with those sweat pants (1000 SEK), makes me think of the sofa chusions in my neighbours', the Linders Familys, house back in the 90'ies. One part etno one part tech.

Classic i-D cover with the one and only Madonna in cerise lipstick. I've had seriuos problem finding a stick that actully works and not make the lips all dry, NOUBA Millebaci is superb and long lasting(Åhléns got it in Sweden, 175 SEK)!
