A couple of weeks ago I, along with Editor in Chief from Kingsize Magazine; Martin did visit Metropol Radio/SR and the Swedish Hip Hop Show with Ametist, we talked about the style history attached to Hip Hop Culture (in swedish this is though =).
This swedish Hip Hop show with Ms Ametist is nothing like the american counterparts with Wendy and Miss Jones... at least not yet...c mon Ametist bring us some Swedish scandals...haha!
We didn't dig that deep in this short hour and unfortunately we never got to my subject of image that I wanted to discuss....but it's worth listening to for DJ Nasty Nates excellent mixing and great picks in between if nothing else!

Yep, my blog have been in the bed with, and yes i guess, cheating with Zelam, but now I'm back! ACNE used to represent the clean minimalism (clothingwise)it self, but I ve noticed a clear change since maybe a year back, the paper becomes more colorful and bold for every number, and now I just found out that swedish jeans brand mag ACNE PAPER did put no other than Mr Jonté on the cover.

The swedish design establishment is sniffig the air, cause the tide is changing. It gets no more obvious.
I would not have done this angle of him though, but the cover is nice!

En av mina två små prinsessor på ärten har fyllt år, så hela påskhelgen har gått åt att fira den lilla sessan, började med en överraskningsfest som slutade i ett barnkalas kaaaos... rrrgH! efter en dags vila samt nya krafter fortsatte firandet med en spontan "vuxenfest"... hahaa... hon blir ju trots allt 24... lol!!! gammal som gatan... eller nej gammal som dom småländska skogarna som hon härstammar ifrån... ja! D e D!!! lol...

Som att inte helgens bravader räckte så va d juH Mosquito i söndags... Har aldrig tidigare varit där, men ett flertal grr. på väg... Har hört mkt. gott om klubben dock, o allt d goda mer än stämde! Efter en trevlig middag hos Lowe med gott vin (jaaa vin alltid vin kasta öl!!!) så inte helt enkelt taxi'ade vi dit...

VigerT & Zelam för er som inte ser det, samt Lowes kamera skills för er som undrar över den vackra tydliga bilden...lol...

It's Holiday...!

Might be some lack of updates next week, but you all know I always pay you back for that. Tonight we re going to the legendary Thomas Gyllings club Mosquito ( for all non swedes, Thomas has been doing ground breaking work for the dancehall/soca/latin popular music scene in Sweden since the 80 ies, also via his TV shows. I ve posted his Queen Latifah (with mr Damon Frost) video from his tv show Mosquito here earlier), we probably will have blast tonight!

WTF the new H&M commercial, can somebody please explain the essense of it? Is it ironic or is it a joke?!

Been working with Sandra Myrberg a photographer that moved back to Sweden after a couple of years in NYC and Barcelona, she's been shooting for Mass Appeal, Honey, Urb och Stress Magazine (anyone here except for Kashal-Tee and me that use to read that mag?!) among different fashion magazines. Modells B-girl SwiSki and rascal Chris, we did two totally different styles... turned out crazy fresh. Teres went Dancehall Queen and Chris became a young Opio (the Souls Of Mischief)in a Native Tounges Style.

Was trying to illustrate a pose for photographer Sandra in this photo, we're shooting tomorrow and I've been trying to put togheter the last things today (and I'm NOT ready yet). Just came back from Black Market and Cicci, she had those incredible Bernhard Willhelm socks, super xtra tigh high, white, striped. I will probably use them tomorrow. One of the modells this time is my girl Teres a k a b-girl Queen Swiski (i ve showed her video art projects here erlier), she cut her hair really short and looks faboulos + of course girl can represent too! She don't have a clue of what I have in mind for her tomorrow!

More Ghettohouse from the Chi Town kid +fellows . What U see in the video is Juking, probably next dance style to blow up. Haleem a k a Strings from Hardcore Detroit that brought Jitting (read my article about it here )here in november has been telling me about the battles they organize between Chicago and the D because of the dissonance in the opinion about what style came first and what influenced what etc.... Detroit Jitting started out along with Detroit techno music but since the 90 ies a lot of people been dancing to Ghetto Tech / Booty Bass etc, as in Chicago. Jitting has a little bit moore of complex angels too it and reminds me sometime of popping when Juking is more dedicated to speed and has more ass shaking into it also.

At the first glance this shoe is plain ugly, but when one leave the eye on it for a minute it's actually pretty cool. Think about their Latin image and add a little bit of swedish Kickers-touch to it, but you need to know what you do if you rocking this. Behind the Camera - May The Force Be With You Shoot

We did "May The Force Be With You" - shoot in middle of Janury. After som research I got a vibe that I wanted to do something in a 80'ies atmosphere, location, light, filter etc. But not clothingwise cause I knew I would use some of the stuff from Velour's latest colleection, that's not is inspiered from the exact same era. It's in the mix it is.

Here is some of my inspiration flicks for the shoot.

Sonia Rykiel (black n white picture) togheter with 80 ies icon Cyndi Lauper became a muses and made me realize I needed a redhead for the shoot. I do a lot of street casting ususlly but for this one a asked Stockholmsgruppen for help and found Hannah W!

I had a fix idea that i wanted white tile as a background for the shoot, we were looking for a great location for a while when suddenly on of EAs friends from NORD SURF just remebered that the garbagemen next to their office in Älvsjö had a shower covered in white tile. EA charmed the boss and voila! we got the permission to take over the garbagemens shower room!

We did use a long exposure time to do the light loop surrounding her so Hannah had to be still, very still. Girl did extremly good. The shoot did turn out pretty good, eaven if we were unsure for a while cause I can't remeber a shoot where all of us has been so totally exhausted (not really for a reason). Here is some behind the scene material:

Klymaxx.-So Totally Now

Klymaxx an allfemale band from the 80'ies, is including popping pioneer and also Michael Jackson choregrapher Pop'N'Taco as the hunk in their video for "Meeting In The Ladies Room" (84). He was THE guy back in the day in the wild 80 ies of NYC, when I met him a couple of years ago he told a story about an italian-american singstress that sooo wanted him into her projects, he said she was a little bit too crazy for him at the point, but maybe he did regeret it...that girls name was Madonna. But he made it pretty good anyway teaming up with the MJ...!
Pop N Taco was one of the reason i ll be posting this video but an other one is that I really feel that it sums up the spirit of NOW, I'm quite sure everyone of you out there will love it, the style, the attitude, the sassyness, the funk. Some of the forrunners to Kelis and the new cats too that -eaven if they don't know it.
