Lykke Li "I'm Good, I'm Gone"

Love that Lykke Li is a little bit more shabby this time, and not as hysterically SWEET as in "A Little Bit" (som jag förövrigt egentligen skulle ha gjort ett dansinhopp i men en annan kund pajjade hela min helg så jag fick ställa in =( )and then Robyn jumps up like a sweet little gobblin! Me like.

Can You Feel It?

Photo Erik Svensson

Some of us already known it for quite a while.... House and Hip Hop goes togheter like Maria and Danne! Paragon is the next in line to get house infected after Lazee / Sebastian Ingrosso and Adam Tensta, Addeboy (The No Sugar Addeds mixmaster ;)!) and Cliff, when the Västerås duo Kings Of The Universe do the Remix of "Asvisst" (or longer version). Loffe and Kyaal always dropping thight retroinspired house with acid scents for the dancefloors and "Aavisst" is no exception (also listen to the JACK pharaphrase; Rules Of Our House)!

Seriously: the people that don't get this; Check Yo History Books. Urban Big City Culture. Not Hip Hop as a delimited culture. Never.

When the Industry made "Dance Music" watered down in the 90 ies it was nearly like a commerciall conspiracy, dance music producers didn't sell no Tees /Posters/Cups with their picture on....

Cheapo By Knotan and Me

Swedish shoebrand Cheapo wanted me to help photographer Knotan out with the styling part for their new collection. Usually I take a huge part in the choice of location, casting modells etc but here I just came with a huge bag of clothes, one of my absolute favv models Jossan Sondlo(who now recently JC did cast for their new compaign, the one Selam did this summer...rumors say they doing "Nu Rave" and "Retro Hip Hop" so update your style ppl or you might look like a JC ad....) cause they wanted me to bring an extra modell and make up artist Susanne, not knowing much at all. I tried to keep it black and white with some small african or just pattern accents, just to have a thread in it. Knotan shoots in a relistic more Terry Richardsonesque skate trashie style, I met him at the Nike Be True event last friday and he showed me some of his new stuff, he was definitely after the rawness, blood included.

It was good to do something a bit different this time, it came out a lot cleaner that I usually do:

Levis 501 that's the shit, perfect fit for 2008 - the in between size. The Classic Wall Street Shirt can't go wrong. 50 ies glasses...like Spike
The Jeansjacket! It's not supposed to look like an afro eaven though it does here, she's faded on the sides. Love those shoes (cheapo ppl is mine on their way ;))
Some readers might recognize some items...

The Devil MadeMe Do it

MadeMe dropping new stuff! Some nice items, for example the Miss America tee is thight. A nice shoot with a great modell, nice poses on the second and third pic especially, real. Boobs. It's just is what it is. And they dropping "Deep In Vouge" on their page. We totally gotta give em credit for that!

Paraphrase Make Up

Maybe the best picture ever. Looked something like this at the Nike Be True /Sneakers n Stuff event. Something.

Baby Phat F/W 08

Baby Phat Fall/Winter 08 was Kimora n the people taking it to bit more classy level, a lot aof 20 ies inspiration that I feel is kind of out done by everyone and their grandmoms.. BUT there is some extenuating circumstances; the Baby Phat logo has a Art Deco feel to it that definitely will work with this collection.

The good moments;

This is the good part of the collection, one part 20 mixed with a 80 ies color scheme= something for NOW! The cut is not perfect but the expression of the hole item is new. They should have built everything around this;

This one is ok, but the cut is maybe too different from the other ones

Nice Cut, easy to wear

ok nothing more/less

Sean John Fall 08

It's been surprisingly little written about the new Sean John Fall 08 Collection, I nearly missed it myself. Maybe it's beacuse of the luxury urban blinganized air connected to rapartist Diddy has a rancid taste today. But as a fashion brand Sean John should not be seen in the light of the artist Puff - Diddy does work with talented designers and the line has always had a clear distinct influence of proud afro american estethics. I'm suprised in a very positive way over the short jacket cut and I love the bordeaux colored suit with the scarf and also the look of the modell with long coat and long hair! This is a intressting continuation for Sean John! Hopefully Mr Combs keep developing his fashion brand on a long term basis, not caring to much of about fads crazes and also seperating the clothing line from the music scene as much as possible to give it an own life and an other credibility.

SuperSuper Show pt 1 (London Fashion Week)

Photos up on their myspace blog from the SuperSuper Magazine Show feat Namalee and Niyi

Off to the Studio. I Need More Time.

Right now I ve a hard time combining my worlds. Have been wondering; why is it so hard to accept that people do more then one thing, it's like too much for their brains...I always get the "advise" to seperate the dancer v.s. the Art Director/Stylist eaven more. And that things moving slower when you re working two fronts. And it's not to prefer from a commercial point of view either I know that... But I want to think there must be a synergism in between them two. One part might be that I get another level of credibility as a real participator in i e the Street Wear world that sometimes feels kind of superficial with loads of POSERS. There is more to it, but the main thing is the balance it gives my existance.

Monki Permanent Vaccaition

In the stores in the middle of march!
About Patch Work, from Kingsize Oct 07

Grammy 08

It was on yesterday, The Grammy Awards 2008! How did the people do style wise this time then...I tell you...This is a mish mash from pre and after partys too.

Sweet but way too easy with the same lipstick, shoe and belt color on Ashanti

Snoop looking thight!
Love the scenery behind Winehouse live from London (and the blond hair is gone puh!)
Ok i get that Kelis wanted something to go with the N-word top, matching with Nas (who's seen better days, but Im happy he's trying something new at least!). But Elvis -shades wasn't it. Black n gold is extremly tired. The Varisity jacket could at least have had a bigger fit to make something happen. We need so much more from Kelis, disapointing, big time. Good hair though.

T-Pain daijjjm!
Mary with hubby keeping a low profile, classy as always.
Rihanna has been impressing recently, great dress! Notice nail coat too. N hair gets shorter and shorter! But everybody can't have the same haircut, some variations is needed!
Morris Day n the Time pimped out. Viriatin with locks on Rihanna
Great dress again, Im really suprised!

I'm disapointd cause ms Furtado could have kicked everyones ass IF she had a make up artist that was knowing her/his things. The dress is flashy 80'ies in color and cut and the necklace plus the slick back follow the same pattern, a make up with a lot of eyes and a colorfull lipstick would have made the outfit go the whole way, now she looks like a Russian prosituta instead
Beutiful Dee Dee Bridgewater is still hella funky!
Sweet Fantasia with her version of "the hair cut"

Nope
Better! But she's safing, working a classic jazz style that can't go wrong...we ve seen this
No. B is totally stuck in glammy, shimmering things, she can't really out do her own Jeremy Scott Robot from the BET Awards....something new that is totally different from what we expect her to wear is needeed! But this pic is so good, with the small Yoko Ono next to her!
With the God Mother

Bai Ling - always everywhere...childis as I am I like it n i think it suits her, have seen her in worse
why so dressed down?
No! I loved her hair blond and red!
3 colors please!
no more white shades now
