When Fugees (at the time Re-Fugees; Tranzlator Crew!)released "Boof Baf" it's was like a bomb dropped in the Gränby School, or at least in Cammes and my class room... I was totally blown away by the rawness with an awerness and still a bouncy dancehall twist to it(dancehall at this time was still pretty dirty with huge amout of sexual content), the sound was so fresh and really musical, it was just different from the jazzyness that dominated Hip Hop at that time (Black Moon, Common, DITC etc). And the best av all; they had a qualified female MC- only a couple of years older then me, ruff rugged and raw + hella stylish. Take some time out to listen how she totally rips it in Some Seeks Stardom eaven thou you heard it before
In 1994 they first released incredible "Vocab" (their different ways of flowing is totally brilliant all togheter in this song, do NOT diss Pras here) thenNappy Heads with a jazzier remix that appealed to the common Hip Hop Heads at that time and when the first album was released they had a solid fan base in NYC/New Jersey, but that first record never became big here in Sweden, actually I havn't met too many that put it up there with all the 94 classic albums, probably because of the different sound.... In 1996 people got the vibe and THE SCORE blew up, you know the rest.
As the person I am I always need to seek the next level when other ppl discover things, and eaven though I do appreciate The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and The Score etc <them records haven't meant shit to me compered to this little rascal kickin it freestyle, appearing in my life at that point:

Vivianne Westwoods underline Anglomania is suppose to be more wearable - and more sellable.
When it works the clothing appeal to a lot of people with the core still intact, when it doesn't it looks like this:
A really bad outdated haircut, a rope chain that was heavy last summer (ok on some few people now but remeber this is for SS 09...the rope chain will be buried n forgotten next summer), Mary Js old glasses from 2001 wtf - AND ON A DUDE?!!!
I am nearly crying when I see this, I mean Anglomania is the only thing of her stuff that I can like afford....
This one is much better but is still a typical pop-icon-symbol thing Jeremy Scott would have done last year

It's sad to say but I think Anglomania got a little bit to greedy about the cake Jeremy Scott and the other Vivianne Westwood-followers are eating from in this minute. They became afraid the new generation wouldn't recognize the real deal and had to flirt instead of following that true love....
Still Vivianne Westwood is my heroine, do not think anything else, when one knows and done it all before it can be harder to feel the Zeitgeist I guess.
