Patricia Field for Barbie was a kind of schitzofrenic fashion show, following photos is what appealed to me, some of it is truly amazing but some of the other stuff was really, really ugly. But in a way that is exactly what my relationship to Barbie is, I used to love her for the fashion, glitz and glamour as a kid - and when I got older hate her for the storeotypes she represented and also for the underlying, so welldirected designs - talking to ones own complexs and dreams, tying togheter so called femininity and consumption in a concept that made her one of the worlds most common toys.... But today isn't te day for me to write more about it. Ppl remember; Fashion is never ever not just fashion.
